Sam Chen

Harvard University

Sam Chen is a freshman at Harvard, and was a nationally ranked competitive debater. He was a member of the National Speech and Debate Association Student Leadership Council, representing the youth voice for more than 50,000 members. He also co-founded Outreach Debate, an international debate nonprofit with more than 1,000+ members. He regularly researched and advocated for safe AI policy. Sam is a Coolidge Scholarship Finalist, an Elks Most Valuable Student, NHS Scholarship recipient, a recepient of the Chancellor's scholarship at Vanderbilt, and recognized nationally for his work in Classics research and debate accessibility. 

Sasha Cara

Harvard University

Sasha Cara is a freshman at Harvard University with interests in mathematics and social justice. She led two impactful community service programs, STEM Roots and Physics and Fitness, which she also founded. Sasha dedicated over five hundred hours of volunteer work reaching over three hundred students in her community and secured grants to provide students access to important educational resources. Sasha’s exceptional contributions to educational equity and service have garnered her numerous accolades, including national recognition from the American Federation of Teachers.

Sasha's academic and leadership achievements have earned her admission into five Ivy League universities: Harvard, Princeton, Columbia (including a Likely Letter and Scholar designation awarded to the top 1% of the class), University of Pennsylvania, and Cornell.

 

Sasha won over $250,000 in school-specific merit scholarships, received invitations to the honors programs of every state school to which she applied, and is an Elks Scholar.

Ethan Rhee

Columbia University

Ethan is a student at Columbia University interested in politics, journalism, and philosophy. He won over $300,000 in merit-based scholarships as well as an additional $130,000 in school-specific merit scholarships. He received no college rejections, and is a 2024 Cameron Impact Scholar and a Coca-Cola Scholar.

 

Ethan has founded two non-profits and has published work with The Library of Congress, USC, and more. During high school, Ethan also wrote for the Los Angeles Times Insider, interned with the Los Angeles Business Journal, and served as a National Cabinet member for the Junior State of America.

When it comes to college applications, Ethan believes in the power of storytelling just as much as he does in the fact that every person has a story worth sharing— even if nothing immediately comes to mind. As an IvyLine Consultant, his job is to help you to tell it in the most optimal way possible. 

Zach Chen

Harvard University

Zach Chen is a student at Harvard University interested in mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence, and history. Zach is an avid debater and researcher, ranked as high as 9th in the nation in Congressional Debate. Having qualified for ISEF twice, Zach interned at the Massachusetts General Hospital's Neurology department under Dr. Tanzi, a leading figure in Alzheimer's research. In the summer of 2024, Zach attended the Alzheimer's Association International Conference as a virtual attendee, presenting his research on dementia prediction through biomarkers and sleep structures.

 

Noticing inequity in research, Zach founded the Unity Network, an organization aimed at providing science research resources for high schoolers, impacting 3,000 students directly and creating partnerships with the Alaskan, Massachusetts, and Oregon state fairs. Additionally, Zach has won over $140,000 in merit school-specific scholarships and is an Elks Most Valuable Student Scholar.
